Numerical Recovery of Gas Flows in Pipeline Systems
نویسنده
چکیده
Optimal control, prevention and investigation of accidents, and detection of discrepancies in estimated gas supply and distribution volumes are relevant problems of trunkline operation. Efficient dealing with these production tasks is based on the numerical recovery of spacetime distribution of nonisothermal transient flow parameters of transmitted gas mixtures based on fullscale measurements in a substantially limited number of localities spaced considerable distances apart along the gas pipelines. The paper describes a practical method of such recovery by defining and solving a special identification problem. Simulations of product flow parameters in extended branched pipelines, involving calculations of the target function and constraint function for the identification problem of interest, are done in the 1D statement. In conclusion, results of practical application of the method in the gas industry are briefly discussed.

Techno-Economic Assessment of Different Inlet Air Cooling Systems in Warm Dry & Wet Climate Stations
Performance of a gas turbine mainly depends on the inlet air temperature. The power output of a gas turbine depends on the flow of mass through it. This is precisely the reason why on hot days, when air is less dense, power output falls. The objective here is to assess the advanced systems applied in reducing the gas turbine intake air temperature and examine the merits from integration of the ...
متن کاملExergy Recovery in Gas Pressure Compression Stations (GPCSs)
The exergy analysis is a proper method for performance evaluation of industrial systems. A generic and detailed analysis of the GPCSs on the second gas pipeline of Iran is made by the means of exergy. The two main improvement measures of fuel pre-heating and steam injection technologies are presented for the current conventional stations. Steady state equations regarding the second law of ther...
متن کاملSimulation of gas-liquid two phase flow in upriser pipe of gas-lift systems
Gas-lift pumps are devices for lifting liquid phase incorporating the gas phase to be injected in the bottom of liquid column. They are widely used in various industrial applications such as oil extracting in petroleum industries. Gas-liquid flow being the main part of the flow through these systems, flowing in vertical pipes of gas-lift pumps has different regimes namely bubbly, slug, chur...
متن کاملThe Indication of Two-Phase Flow Pattern and Slug Characteristics in a Pipeline Using CFD Method
Multiphase flows are commonly encountered in oil and gas industries. The transport of multiphase flow causes the formation of slug, the increase of pressure drop and the possibility of phase changes therefore, a set of simulation runs was performed to predict flow regimes in a horizontal pipeline, and the results were compared with the Baker chart. The effects of small downward inclinations of ...
متن کاملNumerical Gas Flow Recovery at Complex Pipeline Network
The article describes numerical method of physical gas flow parameters recovery at gas trunkline and distribution pipeline networks. The information about full-scale measurements of time dependences of gas flow parameters at defined points inside pipeline networks and at its boundaries is the base for recovery implementation. Numerical simulation is carried out by defining and solving an optimi...
